Care works best when people can find it close to home, from professionals and organizations they trust.
That is why Health Net is committing more than $64,000 to support community health centers across California during National Health Center Week. The funding will help health centers host health fairs, share practical resources and bring neighbors together around care, connection and community support.
Community health centers are often the first place people turn for medical, dental and behavioral health services. They also connect people with trusted local resources that can support their health and daily lives.
Their reach is significant:
- Nearly 6 million Californians receive primary care at community health centers.
- 72% of their patients are covered by Medi-Cal.
- About 2 million Medi-Cal members rely on community health centers for care, guidance and support close to home.
- By the end of 2025, 52% of Health Net’s Medi-Cal members were assigned to community health centers, underscoring how central these clinics are to our members’ care.
Each August, National Health Center Week recognizes the doctors, nurses, community health workers and support teams who help make care more accessible in communities across California.
By supporting local events and outreach, Health Net is helping community health centers meet people where they are, strengthen trusted relationships and connect more Californians with the care and resources they need to live healthier lives.

Participating organizations serve communities across Los Angeles, Madera, San Joaquin, Solano, San Benito, Tulare and Kern counties.
